Notes
'Prudence' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Prudence') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The tall, upright plant bears fragrant, double white blooms with a hint of lavender flesh color. Edward Auten, Jr bred it, and the flowers make a sweet scent in a vase.
Pairs well with Coralbells, Switchgrass, and Carnation.
