Notes
'Puritan' apple (Malus domestica 'Puritan') is a tree for the food garden. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows at a moderate rate with a dense habit. Bees visit the spring blooms, which open from early to late spring. The Massachusetts Agricultural Experiment Station bred it in 1953.
Pairs well with Sweet woodruff, Pink Impression tulip, and Ostrich fern.
