Notes

'Purple Flash' peony (Paeonia 'Purple Flash') is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, cut flower use, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Roger F. Anderson bred it. The single to semi-double blooms open purple with dark flares, then fade to cream. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Coralbells, Blonde Ambition blue grama, and Nodding onion.
