Notes

'Purple Ghost' Japanese maple (Acer palmatum 'Purple Ghost') is a tree for specimen, accent, and woodland gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil. Spring leaves are deep purple-red with prominent black veins, and they turn fiery-red to orange in fall. Deer rarely make it their first choice.

Pairs well with Japanese forest grass, Goldenseal, and Ornamental onion.
