Notes
'Purple Passion' delphinium (Delphinium elatum 'Purple Passion') is a perennial for borders and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Its erect stems reach about 47 to 59 inches tall, and butterflies, hummingbirds, and birds visit the blooms. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. Tall stems may need staking in windy spots.
Pairs well with Willow bell, Magnus coneflower, and Henryi clematis.
