Notes
'Purple Passion' asparagus (Asparagus officinalis 'Purple Passion') is a perennial for the food garden and borders. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy soil. It is grown for sweet, tender purple spears that are not stringy. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. Harvest from year three onward, and feed it rich manure or compost.
Pairs well with Rhubarb, Carlton daffodil, and Thimbleberry.
