Notes
'Purple Passion' artichoke (Cynara cardunculus 'Purple Passion') is a perennial for borders, containers, specimen plantings, and food gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to moist, sandy or clay soil. Bees and butterflies visit the flowers, and the plant tolerates drought. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Flowers appear in early to late summer.
Pairs well with Purple top, Chocolate cosmos, and Mondo grass.
