Notes
'Purple Reign' pineapple lily (Eucomis 'Purple Reign') is a bulb for focal points, containers, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun. Unusual purple flower spikes look like little pineapples with a tuft of bracts on top and open in late summer. Bees visit the flowers, and the glossy, strappy leaves with wavy edges add interest before they open. In colder areas, mulch the bulbs in winter with fallen leaves.
Pairs well with Fountain grass, Blue star creeper, and Chaste tree.
