Notes

Pineapple lily (Eucomis bicolor) is a perennial for borders, containers, pollinator gardens, and use as a specimen. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Its purple and white flowers open in summer and attract butterflies and bees. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. James Veitch & Sons introduced it.

Pairs well with Sum and Substance hosta, David garden phlox, and Snapdragon.
