Notes

'Purple Satin' rose of sharon (Hibiscus syriacus 'Purple Satin') is a shrub for borders, pollinator gardens, and hedges. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to wet soil of most types. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. It grows fast and tolerates drought and salt. Butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit it.

Pairs well with Fourwing saltbush, Pittosporum, and Karl Foerster feather reed grass.
