Notes

'Qín líng' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Qín líng') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Each stem carries one single, up-facing bloom about 5 inches across. The rounded petals are deep purplish pink with dark purple flares and lightly ruffled edges. It blooms in early to mid spring and has a fragrance.

Pairs well with Greig's tulip, Cat mint, and Prairie dropseed.
