Notes

'Qín yù' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Qín yù') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It grows to 53 inches tall and blooms in early to mid spring. Each stem carries one fragrant, single white flower about 5 inches across, with dark purple flares at the base of the ruffled petals.

Pairs well with Lady of the snows, Greig's tulip, Prairie dropseed, and Cat mint.
