Notes

'Qingxinlan' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Qingxinlan') is a shrub for borders and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It grows upright to about 63 inches tall and needs no support. Late spring brings fragrant, double, red-purple flowers with purple flares at the center.

Pairs well with Niobe clematis, Stargazer lily, Mountain laurel, and Meadowsweet.
