Notes
'Radetzky' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Radetzky') is a shrub for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The blooms are pink with red shading, so they add soft color to a border or a vase. Cut a few stems to bring that color indoors. Joseph Unterrainer introduced it in 1858.
Pairs well with First Frost hosta, Standing Ovation little bluestem, Carnaval De Nice tulip, and Spiderwort.
