Notes

'Rare Perfume' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Rare Perfume') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Kelsey bred it in 1936. It blooms in mid to late spring with fragrant, double, medium rose-pink flowers that show some yellow staminodes.

Pairs well with Culver’s root, Sedge, Ostrich fern, and Picture tulip.
