Notes

'Red Alert' peony (Paeonia 'Red Alert') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Fragrant orange-red cup flowers open early, and strong stems hold them erect. Bees and butterflies visit the blooms. David Reath bred it.

Pairs well with Anise hyssop, Fringed bleeding heart, Blue grama, and Black Parrot tulip.
