Notes

'Red Cloud' peony (Paeonia 'Red Cloud') is a shrub for borders, cottage gardens, specimen planting, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. The dark red blooms have brown shading, open in early to late spring, and attract butterflies. Arthur Percy Saunders bred it.

Pairs well with Susan magnolia, Elegans hosta, Blue fescue, and Greig's tulip.
