Notes

'Red Jade' crabapple (Malus scheideckeri 'Red Jade') is a tree for borders, low maintenance gardens, and use as a specimen. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist soil of most types. The weeping, spreading branches reach 12 to 15 feet tall and 15 to 20 feet wide. White, fragrant flowers draw butterflies, bees, and birds. Once settled in, it tolerates drought.

Pairs well with Royal Star star magnolia, Greig's tulip, and Royal fern.
