Notes

'Red King' montbretia (Crocosmia crocosmiiflora 'Red King') is a bulb that grows 24 to 48 inches tall. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average moisture. Red, funnel-shaped flowers with yellow-orange centers bloom on arching stems from early to late summer and attract hummingbirds and bees. Rabbits tend to nibble other plants first. Fitt bred it.

Pairs well with Karl Foerster feather reed grass, Iris, and Virginia sweetspire.
