Notes
'Solfatare' montbretia (Crocosmia crocosmiiflora 'Solfatare') is a bulb for borders, containers, and low maintenance beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Lemoine bred it. Pale apricot-yellow flowers open in summer and again in autumn, and they draw butterflies, hummingbirds, and birds. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal.
Pairs well with Shenandoah switchgrass, Black-eyed Susan, and Fountain grass.
