Notes

Red mulberry (Morus rubra) is a tree for woodland, naturalized, and food garden use. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. The leaves can reach 8 inches long and turn bright yellow in fall. Birds and mammals eat the fruit, which is grown for fresh eating. Deer rarely make it their first choice.
