'Red Power' Lenten rose (Helleborus purpurascens 'Red Power') is a perennial with maroon red flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes part to full shade and average moisture. It blooms in early to mid spring. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. It grows 9 to 12 inches tall and wide, so the plant stays compact.
