Notes

'Red Rooster' fox red curly sedge (Carex buchananii 'Red Rooster') is a grass for borders, containers, rock gardens, and accents. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. The arching, evergreen clumps reach 18 to 24 inches tall and bloom light brown from early to late summer, which draws butterflies and bees. Deer tend to pass it by. Its drought tolerance makes it easy to keep.

Pairs well with Karl Foerster feather reed grass, Amsonia, and Stonecrop.
