Notes

'Regal Splendor' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Regal Splendor') is a perennial for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The red flowers have two rows of collar petals and a full center of curly, crimped petaloids. Blooms are slightly fragrant, and the stiff, thick stems hold them up well. Gilbert H. Wild & Son bred it in 1967.

Pairs well with Great blue lobelia, Obedient plant, Ostrich fern, and Grape hyacinth.
