Notes
'Reine Claude Violette' plum (Prunus domestica 'Reine Claude Violette') is a tree for food gardens and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist soil. Its flowers open in early to late spring and attract butterflies and bees. The fruit is grown for fresh eating and cooking, and it ripens late in the season. Plant a second plum nearby, since this tree is not self-fertile.
Pairs well with Zinfandel grape, Boxwood, Blue mistflower, and Fountain grass.
