Notes

'Renown' peony (Paeonia 'Renown') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. The fragrant double flowers are dark red with yellow undertones and attract butterflies and bees. Plants stay short, and the blooms have Japanese markings. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Obsidian coral bells, Blue fescue, and Lily.
