rhododendron

Notes

Rhododendron (Rhododendron bureavii) is an evergreen shrub for woodland gardens, shady borders, and foundation plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes part sun. Give it a sheltered spot, because the foliage will scorch in hot sunny exposures. The leaves are glossy green above and covered with dense, woolly, reddish-brown to orange hairs below. White flowers flushed with pink open in spring.

Pairs well with Wood sorrel, Snowdrop, Spice bush, and Miscanthus.
