Notes

'Rhubarb Chard' rhubarb (Rheum rhabarbarum 'Rhubarb Chard') is a vegetable for food gardens, borders, and low maintenance plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. It is open-pollinated and takes 60 days to reach maturity. Rabbits rarely make it their first choice. It grows 24 to 47 inches tall and spreads 35 to 47 inches, so give it room.

Pairs well with Empress Wu hosta, Pacific Beauty calendula, and Western sword fern.
