Notes

'Valentine' rhubarb (Rheum hybridum 'Valentine') is a fruit for borders, containers, and food gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. White flowers appear in spring and again in summer. Rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. It grows 24 to 47 inches tall and 35 to 47 inches wide, so give it room.

Pairs well with Virginia strawberry, Dr. Alexander Fleming peony, Dalmatian bellflower, and Lemon balm.
