Notes

'Romeo' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Romeo') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It stands tall and erect. The single blooms have two rows of bright red petals around a center of yellow stamens. Romeo blooms early and is the first peony to open in the garden.

Pairs well with Cheerfulness daffodil, Hollyhock, and Blonde Ambition blue grama.
