Notes

'Rose of Japan' peony (Paeonia 'Rose of Japan') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The fragrant, rich rose pink double blooms open at midseason and attract butterflies and bees. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. Cut a few stems to bring the scent indoors.

Pairs well with Praying Hands hosta, Nodding onion, and Christmas fern.
