Notes

Rose sage (Salvia pachyphylla) is a perennial for borders, containers, and xeriscape gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun, average moisture, and sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Purple flowers open from early to late summer and draw butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. The plant is drought tolerant, so it suits low care beds.

Pairs well with Blackfoot daisy, Blue grama, and Fernbush.
