Notes

'Rosea elegans' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Rosea elegans') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Guérin bred it in 1858. The fragrant, globular blooms open carmine-pink with lilac shading in early to mid spring. Buds form in clusters on tall, strong stems.

Pairs well with Catnip, Sedge, and Grape hyacinth.
