Rough-leaved goldenrod (Solidago patula) is a perennial for meadow gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and moist to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It can reach 60 inches tall. Yellow flowers open in late summer and last into early to mid autumn. The spreading, branched flower cluster looks like an elm tree.
