Notes

'Royal Red' dogwood (Cornus Florida 'Royal Red') is a tree for borders, specimen planting, and shade gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Pink to ruby red blooms open in early to late spring and draw butterflies, bees, and birds. Deer rarely make it their first choice. It grows at a moderate rate.

Pairs well with Oakleaf hydrangea, Autumn fern, First Frost hosta, and Sedge.
