Notes
'Rubicon' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Rubicon') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Victor Lemoine & Sons bred it in 1931. It stays dwarf and upright with good stems. Fragrant, double, deep rose pink blooms with paler edges open in trusses in mid to late spring.
Pairs well with David garden phlox, Carnaval De Nice tulip, and Japanese spirea.
