Notes
'Ruby Jewel' ice plant (Hylotelephium spectabile 'Ruby Jewel') is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, rock gardens, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. The maroon red flowers bloom in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn, and they attract butterflies, bees, and birds. Rabbits rarely make it their first choice. It forms a clump up to 18 inches tall and wide.
Pairs well with Blonde Ambition blue grama, Nodding onion, and Limeglow creeping juniper.
