Notes

'Ruby' panicle hydrangea (Hydrangea paniculata 'Ruby') is a shrub for borders, specimen planting, hedges, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows fast and has an arching shape. Deer tend to pass it by. Bees visit the blooms, which open in summer and again in autumn, and the plant tolerates salt.

Pairs well with Lilac, Sensitive fern, Little Beauty tulip, and Polish Spirit clematis.
