Notes
'Rutdan' dogwood (Cornus rutgersensis 'Rutdan') is a tree for use as a specimen, in pollinator gardens, and in cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average moisture. Pink and white flowers open from early to late spring, and bees and birds visit them. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. The tree grows at a moderate rate and keeps a dense habit.
Pairs well with Munstead lavender, Karl Foerster feather reed grass, Autumn fern, and Ornamental onion.
