Notes
'Rutlan' dogwood (Cornus rutgersensis 'Rutlan') is a tree for specimen planting, pollinator gardens, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average moisture. Pink and white flowers open from early to late spring, and bees and birds visit them. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. The tree grows in a dense form at a moderate pace.
Pairs well with Elizabeth magnolia, Munstead lavender, Karl Foerster feather reed grass, and Autumn fern.
