Notes

RutHib1 rose mallow (Hibiscus moscheutos 'RutHib1') is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, rain gardens, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and moist to wet, sandy or loamy soil. It grows fast, stands erect, and blooms in summer and again in autumn. Deer tend to pass it by. Butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit it.

Pairs well with Black-eyed Susan, Ruby Spice sweet pepperbush, and Western sword fern.
