Notes

'Sanctuary' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Sanctuary') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The large double blooms are ivory white, and some are splashed with scarlet. The flowers have heavy substance and sit on good stems. Edward Auten, Jr bred it.

Pairs well with Great blue lobelia, Blonde Ambition blue grama, and Lanceleaf coreopsis.
