Notes
Sand phlox (Phlox bifida) is a perennial for borders, ground cover, and naturalized areas. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to average soil of most types. The fragrant, pale blue to nearly white flowers attract butterflies and bloom in spring and again in summer. Deer rarely make it their first choice. It stays 3 to 6 inches tall, so it suits the front of a bed.
Pairs well with Tickseed, Blue grama, and Sedge.
