Notes

'Satchmo' rose (Rosa 'Satchmo') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, containers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun and loamy or clay soil. Its orange-red blooms open in late spring, summer, and early autumn, and bees visit them. Samuel Darragh bred it in 1970. The compact plants have dark green leaves.

Pairs well with Blue star, Korean spice viburnum, Lily, and Clematis.
