Notes

'Scipio Africanus' peony (Paeonia 'Scipio Africanus') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The fragrant, light pink semi-double flowers fade to cream, and the upright stems stand on their own without support. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. Joshua Scholten bred it.

Pairs well with Clustered bellflower, Prairie dropseed, Dancing Queen hosta, and Queen of Night tulip.
