Notes

'Segovia' peony (Paeonia 'Segovia') is a shrub for borders, cottage gardens, and specimen plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. The flat, open single flowers have an unusual tawny yellow color and appear in early to late spring. Butterflies visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Lady's mantle, Sweet William, The President clematis, and Big bluestem.
