Notes

'Septemberrubin' New England aster (Symphyotrichum novae-angliae 'Septemberrubin') is a perennial for pollinator gardens, meadows, rain gardens, and naturalized areas. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, clay soil. It grows up to 48 inches tall and bears magenta red flowers in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. Butterflies, bees, and birds visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Goldsturm black-eyed Susan, Sedge, and Northern bayberry.
