Notes

'Serene' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Serene') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its large, double flowers are fragrant and open in late spring. The guard petals are rose-pink outside, and the stiff, straight stems hold the fluffy blooms upright. Alonzo B. Franklin bred it.

Pairs well with Nepeta, Sedge, and Stargazer lily.
