Notes

'Seward' Atlantic nine-bark (Physocarpus opulifolius 'Seward') is a shrub for borders, hedges, privacy screens, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows fast and forms an arching mound 4 to 6 feet tall. Pinkish-white flowers open in spring and again in summer, and they draw butterflies, bees, and birds.

Pairs well with Common snowberry, Hummingbird sweet pepperbush, PowWow White coneflower, and Sensitive fern.
