Notes

'E.J. Shaylor' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'E.J. Shaylor') is a perennial for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Fragrant, double, dark rose-pink flowers with lilac-tipped petals open in late spring. A ring of narrow petaloids with yellow tips gives each bloom a slightly ragged look. The upright plants have strong stems and good foliage.

Pairs well with Orange daylily, Red twig dogwood, Tall fescue, and Carnaval De Nice tulip.
